PSYCHOEDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT

Psychoeducational assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of a student's intellectual ability, academic skills, and, when appropriate, attention regulation and emotional/behavioral presentation. This type of assessment can be a useful tool in understanding why your child is struggling at school.

INTELLECTUAL ASSESSMENT

Measurement of one's intellectual/cognitive abilities is an important part of a psychoeducational assessment. Understanding how your child processes information allows the assessor to identify areas of strength and weakness that may impact your child's success in both the school and home settings.

ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT

Academic assessment is the process of measuring your child's academic skills and comparing those skills to their same-aged peers. Academic measures examine skills ranging from foundational/basic skill development through skills with a heavier emphasis on comprehension and problem solving.

GIFTED ASSESSMENT

Gifted assessment involves intellectual assessment and, if requested, academic assessment.

ADHD ASSESSMENT
An ADHD assessment is an extension of an intellectual and academic assessment. The purpose is to determine if your child is experiencing difficulty with attention regulation and impulsivity/hyperactivity that is developmentally atypical. The process involves clinical interview and the administration of rating scales that allow for the comparison of your child's presentation to that of children the same age.

EMOTIONAL/BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENT
Emotional and behavioral difficulties are common among children and adolescents. An assessment may be warranted if the difficulties demonstrated by your child are developmentally atypical. This type of assessment typically involves clinical interview and the administration of rating scales that allow for the comparison of your child's presentation to that of children the same age.

ASSESSMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL LEVEL
This type of assessment is provided to support services and programming for children and adolescents who present with delayed development. The process involves the measurement of intellectual abilities, as as well as adaptive functioning.
