What are the benefits of having my child assessed?
Professional assessment services are useful for children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulty reaching their potential at school, or who are struggling with emotional and behavioral issues that are impacting their day to day functioning. The comprehensive process allows for a deep understanding of a student's unique strengths and areas of weakness. Understanding these specific factors will allow for Kathleen to make programming recommendations that are specific to your child's learning needs. The information gathered over the course of this assessment is essential in helping teachers and parents understand the child's areas of strength and weakness. Through this understanding, appropriate supports can be put in place to aid in your child's success at school and other areas of life.
What is the cost of an assessment?
Kathleen's rate is $200 per hour, consistent with the Psychologists' Association of Alberta fee schedule. If you have extended health benefits, your plan may provide full or partial coverage for psychological services. Insurance companies will not be billed directly. You will be provided with a detailed invoice and receipt so you can work with your insurance company to seek coverage for your expenses.
